A Technology that Raises 10 times in OLED Emitting Efficiency
Korean research members discovered a method to exponentially increase OLED emitting efficiency. Prof. Kim Hasuk of Seoul Univ., Prof. Kim Jongseung of Korea Univ., and Prof. Lee jinyoung of SungKyunKwan Univ. announced on March 30 that they have succeeded in raising OLED emit strength by more than 10 times.
The team of professors revealed that they have confirmed the emit efficiency of OLED will be increased by more than 10 times when 4 molecules centering "pyrene" molecule are positioned at cross that will raise stability of medium created during electric chemical emit reaction.
The researchers also found basic principle of increased efficiency by comparing and contrasting emit characteristics after designing emit materials systematically.
The research results are posted in the cover of international journal, "Angewante Chemie" March issue
